The invention relates to the field of diagnosis and treatment of cancer and to Wnt/Wingless signalling. The invention provides an isolated and/or recombinant nucleic acid or a specific fragment, homologue or derivative thereof, corresponding to a mammalian Tcf-3 or Tcf-4 gene with a nucleic acid sequence as shown in figure 9 and encoding a Tcf-3 or Tcf-4 protein, or fragment thereof, said protein comprising a beta -catenin binding domain and capable of complexing with beta -catenin in response to signalling through the Wnt/Wingless cascade. Furthermore, the invention provides a method for identifying a candidate drug comprising use of a cell comprising a nucleic acid provided by the invention. |
