Gear wheel with backlash compensation

The gearwheel has two or more toothed gearwheel elements (3,4). These are connected together by at least one connecting member (5) which connects the gearwheel elements circumferentially immovable relative to each other. When heat-expanded the member causes the gearwheel elements to move circumferentially relative to each other. The connecting member can be a push-pull rod fitted as a chord between two gearwheel elements and connected positively at each end to one element.
