PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultraviolet light-resistant article at least partially comprising a polymer material, maintaining the original characteristics of the polymer material, sufficiently inhibiting the deterioration of the polymer material due to ultraviolet light and having high safety, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: This ultraviolet light-resistant article comprises at least partially a polymer material, and has an ultraviolet light-shielding film M comprising a substance itself having an ultraviolet lightshielding property and formed at least at a part of the surface of the portion comprising the polymer material. The method for producing the ultraviolet light-resistant article on which the ultraviolet light-shielding film comprising the substance itself having an ultraviolet light-shielding property is formed contains a process for forming the ultraviolet light-shielding film on the surface of a polymer material portion to form the ultraviolet lightshielding film thereon by a gaseous phase growth method. Therein, before the formation of the ultraviolet light-shielding film or at an initial time on the formation of the ultraviolet light-shielding film, ions are irradiated on the surface of the portion comprising the polymer material in an irradiation energy of 0.05-2 keV at a rate of 1×10<13> to 5×10<17> ions/cm<2> .
