PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a foamed thermoplastic resin sheet with a high foaming magnification and a thick thickness. SOLUTION: The foaming magnification is at least 2.5 times and the shapes of cells existing in an inner position exceeding 20% of the whole thickness from both surfaces of this sheet 6 and exceeding 15% of the width of the sheet from both side faces of this sheet 6 satisfy formulas 0.5<=D/C<=0.9 and 0.5<=E/C<=0.9 (wherein C is the mean cell diameter in the thickness direction of the foamed thermoplastic resin sheet 6 and D is the mean cell diameter in the extrusion direction (MD) of the foamed thermoplastic resin sheet 6 and E is the mean cell diameter in the width direction (TD) of the foamed thermoplastic resin sheet 6.
