A pH measuring device touching the contact point between two adjacent teeth provides an estimation of the existing fluoroapatite formation capability, and the pH is then altered or maintained within a set range using one of three different toothpastes. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - A system for optimising the formation of fluoroapatite on tooth surfaces, comprises estimating the existing fluoroapatite formation capability, and controlling the chemical process. The estimation is based on the result of a calorimetric pH measurement carried out 20 minutes after exposure to sugar, using a measuring device with a shape and size that allows it to be inserted between two teeth and touch the contact point between the teeth. Fluoroapatite formation is optimised by applying one of three different toothpastes to increase or reduce the pH value to 4.5-5.5, or to maintain the pH at this level. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for the kit used in this system, comprising the measuring device coated with a mixture of dried alcoholic solutions (0.09 %) of bromocresol blue or bromothymol blue, and three tubes of toothpaste marked yellow, green or blue to match the colours indicating pH, containing bicarbonate or citric acid, in addition to 0.01-0.001 % fluorine. |
