With no intermediate handling, the disc substrate (4) is transferred directly from injection molding (1) by its extractor (2), onto the cooling wheel (3) for conditioning. Again with no intermediate handling, the disk is delivered directly from the holder on the wheel, to the multilayer metallizer (12) input location. The now-metallized substrate is transferred directly in a single handling stage, into the fully-integrated lacquering process pot (11) of the lacquering- and inspection module (10). Preferred features: The substrates, seating directly in substrate holders of the cooling wheel, are transferred directly with no intermediate handling into the following multilayer metallizing machine input position. The cooling wheel has several holding positions. Each carries the substrate round once or many times, in accordance with conditioning requirements. This rotation takes place in a sealed clean room, taking advantage of its conditioning system (5). Only one transfer handling takes the substrate from the metallizer into the lacquering process pot. The ensuing processes, lacquering and inspection (8), are arranged successively in a compact module. The arrangement manufactures CD-audio, CD-R, CD-ROM, DVD (digital versatile disk), DVD-R, DVD-RAM, CD-RW (CD re-writable), MD (mini disc), MD-MO and/or similar items.
