<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a probe usable as a measuring device for judging the health state of shellfishes in pearl culture or the like. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a light transmitting optical fiber 1 for emitting a near infrared ray to a sample 8, a light receiving fiber 2 for receiving the near infrared ray leaving the sample 8 again after incident on the sample 8, a probe body 3 containing both the fibers 1, 2 so that the respective tips are exposed from one end surface, a reflecting plate 4 opposed to the one end surface of the probe body 3 so as to reflect the near infrared ray transmitted by the sample 8 again to the sample 8 and movably mounted on the probe body 3 so that the distance with the end surface is adjustable, and a measuring means 5 for measuring the distance between the end surface of the probe body 3 and the reflecting plate 4.</p> |
