PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a catalytic activity of a dichlorotoluene isomerizing reaction by a method wherein a secondary particle size of a mordenite in a catalytic molded product is specified. SOLUTION: A catalytic activity of a DCT isomerizing reaction is improved by specifying a secondary particle size of a mordenite in a catalitic molded product in the catalytic composition of DC(dichlorotoluene) at 5μm or under. The catalytic composition containing the mordenite is necessarily made an acidic type prior to being used for the DCT isomerizing reaction. In order to allow such catalyst to function more effectively, it is preferable that rhenium having a hydrogenating active capability is supported by the catalyst, or a silver ion is introduced into the mordenite. Further, fluorine and/or phosphorus constituents are preferably added thereto. Furthermore, when used for the reaction, the DCT being a raw material is preferably brought in contact with the catalyst in a liquid phase. Allowing hydrogen to coexist as a supply raw material is preferable on restraining a decrease of the catalytic activity. |
