PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a health food containing Canavalia useful as a health- promoting component. SOLUTION: In the production of a health food compounded with Canavalia singly or together with other plants for medical use and/or food use, Canavalia and another plant for medical use and/or food use are each separately subjected to a heat treatment, for example, a component is only dried under draft at or below room temperature, or under heating at 50 deg.C or lower, another component is heated at 50-150 deg.C and further another component is roasted at a high temperature at 150 deg.C or higher. Each treated component is compounded into the shape of a solid composition, for example, powder, granules, particles, balls, tables or the like, with the result that a health food in which the stability of each component is secured, and at the same time the activity and the taste of each component are not lost is produced. |
