Date Jun. 12, 1997An apparatus comprising a plate for receiving a spectacles lens to be fitted in one of the rims of a spectacles frame selected by a patient, a positioning device arranged above the plate for positioning a gripping member on the spectacles lens, and a screen for displaying an image of the rim in which the lens is to be fitted. The apparatus is combined with imaging means so that the image is imported from the patient wearing the appropriate spectacle frame.
