PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tunnel boring device wherein the large cross section and the long distance of a tunnel are facilitated and the occurrence of a rolling in which the boring device body is reversely rotated in the rotation direction of a face disc because of the reaction of the ground, is reduced. SOLUTION: A tunnel boring device 1 is provided with a disk-like rotary disk 2 whose front face 2f is brought into contact with a tunnel cutting face and rotated, and cutting members 6,... cutting the ground at the time of rotation of the rotation disc 2 provided on the front face 2f. The rotation disc 2 is divided into a plurality of rotation parts 4, 5 at the boundary of concentric circles, and the rotation parts 4, 5 are rotated at mutually different angles. At least one of the rotation parts 4, 5 is rotated in the contrary direction to the other. Size and angular velocity of both the rotation parts 4, 5 are set so that resistance received from the ground at the time of rotation is substantially equal to those of the normal rotation part 4 rotated normally and a reverse rotation part 5 rotated reversely out of the rotation parts 4, 5. |
