PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet printer having a plurality of ink ejection nozzles whereby clogging hardly occurs. SOLUTION: In a print head 2, a common 7a on a substrate 8-1, and a cutting electrode 7b and accelerating electrodes 7c on a substrate 8-2 are opposed to each other and an ink passage 9 of which inner wall is covered with water- repellent films 14-1, 14-2 is formed. Ink 11 in an ink tank 3 is introduced from an ink stand-by section 12 having a water-repellency to the cutting electrode 7b to be cut. The ink becomes an ink droplet to be accelerated to a direction X in the ink passage 9 having the water-repellency by virtue of a Maxwell's distortion by an electric field which is sequentially generated toward a side of an ejection nozzle 16 by the plurality of accelerating electrodes 7c. The ink droplet is ejected from the ejection nozzle 16 to a surface of a recording paper to form one dot thereon. In the case where plural sets of the common electrode 7a, cutting electrode 7b and accelerating electrode 7c are juxtaposed in the direction Y (paper width direction), it is possible to constitute a print head capable of printing a plurality of dots at the same time. |
