PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve traveling ability and safety in traveling on the continuous curved road by preventing a switch from frequently repeating ON/OFF in speed reduction control on the continuous curved road in a vehicle control device for controlling the drive force of the vehicle according to the curving condition of the curved road in front of the vehicle. SOLUTION: In a vehicle side control device provided with a speed reduction control permission range setting means which sets a range where speed reduction control is permitted based on the detection results of a curve detection means and a travelling position detection means and a speed reduction controlling means which performs a specified speed reduction control in the range where speed reduction control is permitted, if the interval L between speed reduction control permission ranges adjacent to each other is smaller than a threshold Ls, the speed reduction control permission range setting means sets a range from the starting position (s)(c-1) of the speed reduction control permission range for the curve C1 on this side to the finish position (f)(c) of the speed reduction control permission range for the succeeding curve C2. Through this operation, the frequent repeating of speed reduction control ON/OFF which is caused by the discontinuance of the speed reduction control permission range for a short period can be prevented. |
