The belt lock includes a whip (1). The whip includes a push-in tube (2) fixed to the bodywork for the axial guidance of a guide part (3) which is fixed to two cables (4, 5) of low flexibility. These cables carry the belt lock (12) on the end facing away from the push-in tube. The tube has a stop plate (7) for the guide part to limit the extent to which the cables can be pulled out of the tube.
