摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a Zn-Al alloy having earthquake damping properties equal to those of a damper made of Pb and capable of attaining miniaturization and lightening and to provide a method for producing it. SOLUTION: In a Zn-Al alloy composed of, by weight. 30 to 99% Zn, and the balance Al with inevitable impurities, a structure in which theβphase of <=0.05μm average grain size are finely dispersed into theαphases orα' phases of <=5μm average grain size is formed. It is produced by soaking the Zn-Al alloy at >=250 deg.C, thereafter executing rapidly cooling, next subjecting it to warm working at <=275 deg.C and subsequently executing rapid cooling, or by soaking the Zn-Al alloy at <=250 deg.C, thereafter executing rapid cooling and then subjecting it to cold working.
