The container consists of a translucent or semi-translucent outer element (10), and an inner element (1) which has an ornamental outer surface, esp. metallised in gold or silver. The two elements have interlocking assembly surfaces (8,14,11), are clipped together and then ultrasonically welded. The inner element of the container is made from a thermoplastic resin selected from the group comprising polyolefin resins, polyamide, PVC, polyethylene terephthalate and methylpentene. It is cylindrical in shape with a base of larger diameter which has an up-turned edge (4) to engage with the lower end of the outer element.
