X-RAY PULSE GENERATING DEVICE AND ITS METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device to generate an X-ray pulse with high contrast, in which a pulse interval and a pulse width of the X-ray pulse can be controlled at a high speed of about 100 ps by an X-ray modulation element. SOLUTION: An interference fringe is formed by irradiating excitation light 6 onto a surface of an X-ray modulation element 3 by using a beam splitter 5 and a mirror 4. In this case, since a light excitation carrier is cyclically distributed on the surface of the X-ray modulation element 3, X-ray reflection characteristics change and optical characteristics of incident X-ray 7 from a X-ray source 7A also cyclically change, so that diffracted X-ray 9 with a high speed and high contrast can be obtained without relying on strength of the excitation light 6.
