PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus wherein a distance between a light emitting element device and a surface of an electrostatic latent image forming member is maintained at a constant during the using condition for a long time so that a clear latent image is formed on the electrostatic latent image forming member. SOLUTION: This image forming apparatus comprises an electrostatic latent image forming member 1, a light emitting optical device 2 having a light emitting optical device body consisting of a light emitting element array for emitting an optical image to the electrostatic latent image forming member 1 and an optical means for focusing the light emitted from the light emitting element array on the electrostatic latent image forming member 1, a developing device, and a transferring corotron. The light emitting optical device 2 comprises a sliding support member 25 that supports the light emitting optical device body slidable in the emission direction of the optical image, air blowing sections 26, 27, 28 for blowing air to the electrostatic latent image forming member 1, an air blower and an air adjusting means for adjusting the air from the air blower. |
