<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coated magnetic recording medium, which is superior in electromagnetic transduction characteristic in a high frequency area and is superior in productivity, and its production method. SOLUTION: In this magnetic recording medium, a nonmagnetic layer including a resin hardened by electron rays is provided on at least one face of a nonmagnetic support body, and a magnetic layer including magnetic powder essentially consisting of iron (Fe) is provided on the nonmagnetic layer. In this case, the glass transition temperature Tg is >=65 deg.C, and this nonmagnetic layer is formed by hardening a coating film, which is obtained by applying and forming a paint for nonmagnetic layer including the resin hardened by electron rays on the nonmagnetic support body, by electron rays, and Tg of the coating film before hardening due to electron rays is 30 to 53 deg.C, and this resin hardened by electron rays contains a vinyl chloride resin hardened by electron rays which has a polar group containing S and a urethane resin hardened by electron rays which has a polar group containing P.</p> |
