Disclosed is a 7-[4-(4-fluorophenyl)-2,6-diisopropyl-5- -methoxymethyl-pyrid-3-yl]-3,5-dihydroxy-hept-6-enoate of the formula (I) and its salts, if desired in an isomeric form, a method its preparation, an intermediate of the general formula (IV) resulting therefrom, a pharmaceutical composition with its content, and its use as a medicament for, especially, lowering the cholesterol content in the blood.
