Methods and systems for a wireless ATM network with high quality of service scheduling are provided. In one embodiment, a wireless ATM network including a base station (100) and a plurality of subscriber terminals (104) with per-VC scheduling, a virtual framer for periodical, requestless scheduling, and a virtual shaper for request-based scheduling are provided.
