The invention concerns the human beta -TrCP for homing proteins towards pathways degraded by proteasome capable of interacting with the HIV-1 virus Vpu protein, with I kappa B and beta -catenin cell proteins and with the Skp1p cell protein, and its peptide fragments and the nucleic acid sequences coding for said proteins and its fragments. The invention also concerns the human beta -TrCP protein or its peptide fragments for screening HIV-1 antiviral agents, and antitumoral agents and anti-inflammatory agents, the antitumoral agents, the anti-inflammatory agents and the antibodies directed against said protein and its peptide fragments.
