Outputting image data

In order to print a hand motion corrected still picture video signal frame to form a clear, high quality image, even field and odd field data making up a still picture frame are stored in a memory (3). The stored frame is divided into blocks (Fig. 3) and a motion vector is detected (5) for each block. A hand motion correction (or deviation) quantity is determined (5) from the entirety of the detected motion vectors; and the two fields of the still picture frame are read out of the memory (3), corrected as a function of the deviation quantity and printed.
