PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that it is difficult to produce waved yarns from cellulose yarns having excellent touch, such as rayon yarns, and thereby that it is required to sacrifice washing resistance and tension resistance. SOLUTION: Tencel fiber 1 is obtained by dissolving cellulose in a solvent and subsequently spinning the solution in air. In the produced tencel fiber, cellulose molecules are highly crystallized and greatly oriented. The tencel fibers 1 are knitted in to give constant repeated loops. The knitted fabric is immersed in an alkali solution for a prescribed time to convert the cellulose of tencel into the softened alkali cellulose. The treated knit fabric is subsequently immersed in an acidic solution to fix the shape of the tencel in the state as such. The fixed fabric is washed with water, dehydrated, dried and subsequently unraveled to leave constant repeated loop shapes on the tencel fibers 1. Consequently, waved fibers W maintaining the touch of the tencel and having excellent washing resistance and tension resistance are obtained.
