PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce an antibacterial metallic sheet having stable antibacterial properties, in which deterioration such as oxidation and patina are head to produce and excellent in corrosion resistance and to provide a method for producing it. SOLUTION: As for this antibacterial metallic sheet, on the surface of a substrate 2 composed of SUS304 or the like, a Cu plating layer 3 and an Ni plating layer 5 are successively laminated and applied, the substrate 2 having these plating layers 3 and 5 is subjected to cold rolling of >=3% draft between a pair of rolls R, and the plating layers 3 and 5 are densified and are closely adhered to the substrate 2. The substrate 2 having the plating layers 3 and 5 is heated in a vacuum in an annealing furnace F, and interdiffusion is allowed to occur between the Cu plating layer 3 and the Ni plating layer 5 to form a thin layer 4 of a Cu-Ni series alloy in which the concn. of Cu is made gradient in the thickness direction in such a manner that the side of the substrate 2 is composed of a Cu-Ni alloy layer 6 high in the content of Cu and the side of the surface is composed of an Ni-Cu alloy layer 8 high in the content of Ni. |
