The connector has a knife strip (1) and a spring step (2) of plastic which each have signal contacts (5) each surrounded by screening elements, arranged in rows and columns. Ground strips (3) in the knife strips run over its entire length and are arranged between adjacent signal contact rows. Ground plates (4) are arranged in the spring strip between adjacent signal contact columns. Each ground strip is formed with pin-shaped ground contacts arranged in the inter-grid to the signal contacts. A plug-in contact is produced with each ground plate by the ground contacts.
