PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate interference fringes of light and display unevenness on a display screen and to make a reflection/transmission sheet resistant to scratches, dents, etc., by placing a light uniformalizing means between a transmissive liquid crystal display element and a polarized light selective reflection/ transmission sheet. SOLUTION: A condenser lens seat 3 has an effect to refract other light than that perpendicular to the lens surface in the direction perpendicular to the surface and to increase the strength of light in the vertical direction to the surface. The light acted on by such a condenser lens sheet 3 is made incident on a polarized light selective reflection/ transmission sheet 2, and polarized light component parallel to a polarized light transmission axis is transmitted through the polarized light selective reflection/transmission sheet 2 and polarized light component vertical to the polarized light transmission axis is reflected by the polarized light selective reflection/transmission sheet 2. The light transmitted through the polarized light selective reflection/transmission sheet 2 is diffused by a diffuser sheet 9, and is made incident on a 1st liquid crystal display element. Such a diffuser sheet 9 has a property of reducing unevenness if light in the surface of the diffuser sheet 9 by diffusing the light being transmitted. |
