PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recycle a waste material without decreasing the strengths by mixing a recovered waste material with a material for density adjustment to prepare a submaterial having a density near to that of dicylopentadiene, i.e., a main material, and mixing the submaterial with the main material. SOLUTION: A recovered PET bottle waste having a specific gravity of 1.3-1.4 is mixed with a material for density adjustment, such as a low-density polyethylene having a specific gravity of about 0.91, in a specified ratio to give a submaterial having a specific gravity near to 1.04, the specific gravity of dicyclopentadiene, as a main material. The main material, the submaterial, and an ethylene-propylene rubber which improves the compatibiltity between the main material and the submaterial and has a specific gravity of about 0.85 are mixed and kneaded in a specified ratio and extruded with a twin-screw kneader to give pellets. A liq. material comprising at least two compds. selected from among tricyclic norbornene monomers (e.g. dicyclopentadiene), tetracyclic norbornene monomers (e.g. tetracyclododecene), pentacyclic norbornene monomers (e.g. tricyclopentadiene), and their alkylated derivs, is used as the main material. |
