<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain high-speed and large-capacitance repeating processing by performing the forwarding processing of an IP packet while receiving an ATM cell showing the destination information of the ATM cell for forwarding, performing the call processing of the IP packet while receiving an ATM cell showing the destination information for call processing, and performing management and control while receiving the ATM cell through a third path. SOLUTION: An IP forwarding processing function 402, call processing function 403 and management/control function 404 corresponding to respective virtual connections VC are originally predetermined and IP packet data, data for call setting and data for management/control are distributed by routing for each VC. By utilizing physically different communication buses for connecting an ATM switch 50 and an IP processor 40, every processing can be efficiently executed. Besides, the resource of a CPU 401 is independently used so that improvement in throughput due to distribution effect can be expected.</p> |
