PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To excellently fill liquid crystal without causing failure such as disconnection of electrodes in a simple matrix type color liquid crystal element with external driving circuits for electrode drive distributed on the right side and left side to be mounted on both upper and lower substrates. SOLUTION: Scanning electrodes 2 are formed on a substrate 1 and color filters/information electrodes 5 are formed on a substrate 4, and at the end part of the substrate 4 parallel to the information electrodes 5, a liquid crystal filling port 8 is provided, and the substrate 1 and the substrate 4 are stuck together with a sealing material 7, and after filling liquid crystal, the substrate 4 is cut in the vicinity of the liquid crystal filling port 8, and after wiping off the liquid crystal adhered on the substrate 1, the port is sealed with a sealing material 9. |
