PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication ticket issuing machine and a communication ticket issuing method capable of improving recognition rate of a telephone number of an applicant for purchase of a communication ticket described on an application form, reducing burden of the staff and simultaneously improving issuing efficiency of the communication ticket. SOLUTION: A reading part 124 to read the telephone number of the applicant for purchase of the commutation ticket described on the application form is providing with an OCR 200 to read numbers corresponding to the telephone number described on the application form, a recognizing part 202 to recognize specified numbers baed on bit map data of the numbers read by the OCR 200 and a database 204 with a table of area codes. When plural candidates are generated in a group of numbers equivalent to an area code among the telephone number described on the application form in the recognizing part 202, an existing area code is retrieved from the database 204 and the telephone number pertinent to an area corresponding to a departing station, an arriving station and a junction to regulate a section of use in which the communication ticket is used is preferentially selected. |
