PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To settle attraction defect of a sheet on a transfer body by excellently performing the discharge, in the case of discharging the electric charge remaining on the transfer body, in order to make the sheet possible to be attracted and held on the transfer body. SOLUTION: In order to transfer a toner image formed on a photoreceptor 15 to the sheet P, this device is allowed to perform the transfer by electrostatically attracting the sheet P on the transfer body 8 by voltage applied on the transfer body 8 in a drum shape transfer body 8 and the ground roller 9, and rotating it to the transfer position opposing/butting to the photoreceptor 15 in this state. The sheet P completing the transfer is, separated by from the transfer body by a separating pawl 10, and the electric charge remaining on the transfer body 8 after separating, is discharged by discharging means 11. When a trailing end of he sheet P is separated from the transfer body 8, the transfer body 8 is rotated backward and the area in the vicinity of the position (a) being discharged before is discharged again, and then the transfer body 8 is rotated in the forward direction, by which the same area allowed to pass through the discharging means 11, hence the discharge is performed plural times, therefore the discharging efficiency rises, the discharge defect derived from such as environmental change is eliminated, and accordingly the sheet P is satisfactorily attracted to the transfer body 8. |
