PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make optimally keepable the action of a cooling fan without providing a temperature detecting element in an image forming device by controlling the action of a cooling means based on temperature information for controlling the heating of a heating element. SOLUTION: In a fixing device, the temperature of the heating element 102b is controlled according to the number of passing transfer material 8 measured by a passing paper number measuring means. When the image forming device starts printing action from a stopping state, the temperature of the heating element 102b and a pressure roller 104 before performing the action is detected by the temperature detecting element. The temperature control is decided according to a table previously stored in a controller from the detected temperature, and set temperature is switched when the previously set number of passing transfer material is attained. Namely, the cooling fan is not used immediately after starting printing, and it is started to be driven when the previously set number of passing transfer material is attained. This is because the image forming device is not warmed up and fixing ability is obstructed if the cooling fan is rotated from the first print. |
