The invention relates to a reading device for a chip card having a memory unit for storing constant and variable data which can be given beforehand, especially for storing money amounts given beforehand, whereby the chip of the chip card is connected to a contact surface which is open on a surface of the chip card. The data stored on the chip card can be presented on a display of the reading device. A simple deduction of freeway tolls is thus achieved in that the reading device contains an emitting and receiving device for emitting data stored in the memory unit of the chip card, said emitting and receiving device being operated by an electric power source which is integrated in the device. The reading device also contains constant and variable data which is stored therein. |
