<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the danger of inserting a hand between a discharge tray and a machine frame by providing a movable working member on a sheet discharging device corresponding to the moving end of a movable discharge tray, and operating a switch when the working member is moved by an external force to stop the movement of the discharge tray. SOLUTION: A sheet processing device is provided with a plurality of discharge trays, a part of which consists of a movable discharge tray 21a, and this discharge tray 21a is moved to a working position in copying and moved to a non-working position of the upper limit position in printing. Safety bars 30, 40 are provided on the upper and lower end parts of the discharge opening of such a sheet processing device. The safety bar 30 has a rotating member 31 supported by a shaft 31c and having a cam consisting of a main working part 31a and an escape part 31b. When the finger of an operator is nipped in the space with a machine frame in raising the discharge tray 21a, a microswitch 32 is OFF by the rotation of the rotating member 31, and the upward motion of the discharge tray 21a is urgently stopped.</p> |
