PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser pickup lens having excellent non-double refractiveness, heat resistance and low hygroscopicity and an optical element using the same. SOLUTION: This lens is constituted by using a resin obtd. by polymerizing a monomer mixture consisting of the following monomer components, (A) to (E) at such a monomer compounding ratio at which the absolute value of the orientation double refraction of the resulted resin attains <1×10<-6> . (A) 5 to 40 wt.% methacrylate or acrylate having 5-22C alicyclic hydrocarbon group in an ester moiety, (B) 50 to 80 wt.% methyl acrylate, (C) 5 to 40 wt.% N-substd. maleimide, (D) 0 to 30 wt.% benzyl methacrylate and 0 to 10 wt.% monomer copolymerizable therewith. |
