NETWORK INTERFACE, DEVICE FOR INITIALIZING IT AND METHOD FOR LOADING CONSTITUTING INFORMATION IN NETWORK INTERFACE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make initializable a network interface within a work station by constituting the network interface to load initializing information from a nonvolatile memory in response to a reset signal and a network clock. SOLUTION: A reset detection circuit for generating a reset signal with respect to the network interface in response to the detection of a power on condition is included. This circuit outputs the reset signal until receiving a network clock detection signal. In addition, a network clock detection circuit generates a network clock detection signal after a previously fixed interval from the detection of a network clock. The network interface 10 includes a PCI bus interface unit 16, a network interface part 20, etc., and in response to the reset signal and the network clock, loads initialization information from the nonvolatile memory.
