PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning agent composition for a plastic lens molding glass mold which is excellent in properties for cleaning high molecular weight resin stains and safety for a human body at cleaning and does not corrode members related to cleaning apparatuses, and a cleaning method. SOLUTION: A cleaning composition for a plastic lens molding glass mold consisting of 10-94 wt.% of an aromatic compound expressed by formula I [wherein R<1> is a hydrogen atom or a 1-4C hydrocarbon group; X is an oxygen atom, an oxymethylene, carbonyl, or -(CH2 )k - group (k is 1 or 2); Y is a hydroxyl, 1-7C hydrocarbon, or -(R<2> O)j H group (R<2> is a 2-3C alkylene group; 5 is an integer of 1-8)], 0.5-50 wt.% of an organic alkali agent, and the rest of water and a method for cleaning a glass mold using the composition are provided. |
