Position measurement using digital mobile telephone in a network of radio masts

The method involves cartographically determining the positions of the fixed radio masts (2) and defining the position of a mobile telephone (1) with a connection to one of the masts as lying within the range of reception of this mast. The instantaneous positions of all mobile telephones in the network can be detected in a central station (3) and communicated from there to each authorised point (4a-4c) . The position of the mobile can be shown on a digital map on a computer's visual display screen.
