The invention concerns a method for transmitting coded meteorological data which consists in transmitting, every twenty-four hours, a plurality of time codes each providing in coded form a different real time and in transmitting within this interval a plurality of meteorological codes each defining meteorological data of a given geographical region among a plurality of different corresponding regions. In particular, each meteorological code is associated with a predetermined time code whereof at least one part defines at least partially said meteorological addressing code or identification code. The invention also concerns a device comprising an electromagnetic receiver and arranged for receiving and processing time codes and meteorological codes concerning several geographical regions and for displaying at least partially meteorological data contained in said meteorological codes. The coded meteorological data being addressed by using time codes which define at least partially the addressing codes of the meteorological codes.
