PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for producing color filters which have high durability, has less color nonuniformity, has high display quality, may be produced with high productivity in shorter stages and may be reduced in cost. SOLUTION: (A) An exposure stage by scanning of laser beams for irradiating the surface of an intermediate transfer body 14 provided with an IR absorption layer 11 consisting of IR absorbent dyestuffs and a binder resin and a delayed tack adhesive layer 13 contg. a binder resin, a plasticizer and a tacky adhesive on a flexible substrate 10 with heat rays to the shape of the image to be formed, (2) a stage for bringing the delayed tack adhesive layer 13 into contact with the transfer layer 18 of transfer foil 20 provided with a transfer layer 18 consisting of coloring agents and the binder resin on a base after the irradiation with the heat rays and (3) a stage for peeling the transfer foil 20 from the intermediate transfer body 14 after the tight adhesion. These stages are repeated plural times with the transfer foil of different colors to form the colored pattern images of the prescribed shapes of the plural colors. The body to be transferred which is formed by providing the surface of a transparent substrate with an adhesive layer of the binder resin is then brought into tight contact with the colored pattern images under pressurization and is stripped, by which the colored patterns of the prescribed shapes of plural colors are transferred and formed on the body to be transferred. |
