<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely communicate a transaction between devices respectively connected to primary and secondary PCI buses. SOLUTION: A PCI repeater 116 is interposed between a primary PCI bus 112 and a secondary PCI bus 118. The repeater snoops a configuration cycle communicated by the primary PCI bus 112 and stores the base address of a device contained in this cycle into an address map. Besides, when the transaction generated on the secondary PCI bus 118 has been addressed to the device included in the address map, the repeater transfers it to the primary PCI bus 112. When the transaction is not included in the address map, it is transferred to the secondary PCI bus 118. Since the configuration cycle is executed in initialization or the like without fail, the repeater can confirm the device connected to the primary PCI bus 112 so that communication is surely performed between different PCI buses.</p> |
