PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent lines which are less than a prescribed width from being lost by thinning rows or columns in images for which pixels are disposed in a matrix form and reducing a data amount. SOLUTION: In steps S302-S304, whether or not the line in a horizontal direction less than the prescribed width is present is checked. When the straight line is not present ('No' in the step S302), a row thinning processing (processing for thinning one of two rows for instance) is executed in a step S305. When the straight line is present ('Yes' in the step S304), the row thinning processing is not executed. |
