PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of realizing good consecutive gradation by always linearly correcting γ-characteristic in accordance with the change of transfer efficiency caused by image density and environmental change even in the case of performing correction on an intermediate transfer body. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a test pattern producing means 5 producing test image data in order to detect the image density, a first density detecting means 1 detecting the image density on a photoreceptor on an upstream side before image transfer and on an intermediate transfer body, a second density detecting means 2 detecting the image density on the photoreceptor on a downstream side after image transfer and on the intermediate transfer body, a correcting means 6 correcting the image data, and a control means 25 calculating correction data correcting the image data by the image density data from the first and the second density detecting means 1 and 2, and setting the correction data in the correcting means 6. |
