<p>553.982. Concentrating ores. FAIRWEATHER. H. G. C. (American Cyanamid Co.) Aug. 19, 1941, No. 10544. [Class 82 (ii)] Ores containing acidic siliceous gangue e.g. phosphate ores, are concentrated by subjecting the ore in form of aqueous pulp to flotation or froth flotation in the presence of a reaction product of an organic sulphuric acid salt of an amino-alcohol with a carboxylic acid having at least 8 carbon atoms, or a mixture of such acids. The products may be prepared as described in Specification 551,557, [Group IV]. The product may be the product of an aromatic sulphuric acid salt of an amino-alcohol such as mono- or de-ethanolmine with talleol or with mixtures of fatty acids obtained by the saponification of various natural oils and fats such as coconut oil, palm oil or cottonseed oil. The fatty acids used may be myristic, stearic capric palmitic or oleic acid or abietic, montan or naphthenic, acids.</p> |
