<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease the quantity of hardware and software by constituting a coating applicator which feeds a conductive body to be coated which is an object for coating application, decides the injection current of a high-voltage electrode and detects whether the body to be coated exists in front of the coating applicator not according to the magnitude of the decided injection current. SOLUTION: A high-voltage former integrated with an injection gun 66 forms the injection current from an electrode 17 to the body 200 to be coated. This injection current is measured by a high-voltage module and is handed over to a spacing controller 302. This spacing controller 302 attempts to maintain the prescribed injection current. If, for example, the injection current is smaller than the prescribed current, the spacing controller 302 supplies a correction signal to a shift shaft control section 304. This control section 304 moves a servo motor 306 and a gun supporting section 308 together with an injection gun 66 near to the body 200 to be coated. Namely, the entire part of the device is vertically moved by a lift device 310 and the electrode 17 is moved along a broken line 312, by which the distance from the body 200 to be coated is maintained.</p> |
