The invention concerns a device for supporting a banner or similar flexible panel (1) generally rectangular in shape, arranged stretched in a vertical plane, said panel being integral by its top and bottom edges in said plane, with two substantially horizontal rods (4 and 5) respectively, forming extension bars, for blocking and rigidifying said edges, said rods being borne by a vertical mast or similar element (2). The invention is characterised in that each horizontal rod is provided, in the proximity of the vertical mast, with a support element (6) thereon, associated with temporary blocking means (15, 16) on the mast, each rod and its support element being assembled by a spring (7) capable of countering the lateral torsional couple exerted on the rod, by permanently returning the latter in the panel vertical plane.
