CURSOR DISPLAY DEVICE/METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cursor display device which can discriminate an input character and a character which is previously inputted without operating a pointing device. SOLUTION: The cursor display device displays a pointing cursor showing a coordinate position out the screen of a computer system out a screen with character information. The cursor display device is provided with the pointing device 12 for inputting movement data for moving the pointing cursor, a central control part 14 judging whether a period when movement data is not inputted by the pointing device 12 exceeds a prescribed period or not and a cursor control part 26 moving the display position of the pointing cursor on the screen to a position which is not overlapped with character information when the central control part 14 judges that the period when movement data is not inputted by the pointing device 12 exceeds prescribed time. Thus, the cursor atomically moves when the pointing device 12 is not operated within prescribed time.
