PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the method for predicting the seizure time of the crank shaft metal by which the discontinuance of processes is reduced, the service life of a crank shaft is prolonged and a repair cost is reduced by correctly predicting the seizure time of the metal. SOLUTION: In this predicting method, in a cold Pilger equipment, the current value of a motor 7 for extrusion is always measured during extruding a tube stock by a cold Pilger. A measured value is compared with the unit weight of the tube stock being extruded at present. And, when it is continued for 24 hours or over that the current value of the motor 7 for extrusion, which is always measured, is higher than a value (unit weight of extruded tube stock + 25)×1.1} about which the seizure of the metal of the crank shaft 1 is worried, the seizure of the metal of the crank shaft 1 is predicted.
