Fitting flat seal in gap between two flanges

A flat seal is positioned between two flanges (1,1') forming a slot (s) using a cylinder (7) incorporating a slit over its entire length, so centering the seal (6) during the fitting process. The flanges have drilled holes (3) for flange bolts (4). The cylinders are pushed into the holes with which they have a clamp-fit, projecting from the thin side of the flange (1) to bridge the slot. The cylinders inserted in the holes are gripped by the bolts. The length of the bush is such that, when the flange is tightened, it recedes into the flange hole.
